My Journey to Photography

My favorite part about a photo is the feeling it gives you when you look at it. My goal with every photoshoot is to capture the moment; so in the years to come you can look at that photo and genuinely feel the moment.

When I was a little girl my Mom had a 35mm film camera. I would take hilarious pictures of my nieces and nephews and then beg my Mom to develop the film. To this day we look at those photos and laugh!

In 2004 I started as a photographer at Sears Portrait Studio. I fell in love with capturing photos of children and families. It was so neat to be able to connect with families who remembered the photographer named “Tami” when they returned for their milestone photos again and again!

After college I bought my first DSLR camera and started taking pictures of my family and close friends. That soon escalated to friends of friends to today where I will meet people for the first time to take their photos!

After 15 years of working full time as a social worker and part time photographer I finally made the leap in 2020 to go all in to photography! I specialize in families, children, seniors and newborns. I'm blessed with 3 amazing children and a husband who never stops supporting me! Now you know my story and believe me I can't wait to meet you and hear yours!

My Sessions

I like to keep my sessions relaxed, fun and short. I have learned that children give me some of the best shots in the first few minutes of the session! Some of my favorite photos are the unplanned ones! So give all the hugs, kisses, snuggles, and tickles you want! I love to capture those moments too!
